Growatt Downloads

To update your Growatt firmware:
1) First check your current firmware version. You can do this using the up/down buttons on the front of your growatt.
If your hardware (see the silver/black sticker on the right side of the Growatt case) is SKSL00.0013100, you can proceed. If not, this firmware may brick your inverter. If your current firmware is 67 01 104 / 68 01 104, then you can upgrade to this firmware (67 F4 A27 / 68 F4 A27). Only update to a firmware if you have the correct hardware version for that firmware.
2) Document your current settings, from setting #1, to setting #21
3) Go to http://help.roarpower.nz:8080
4) Go to the Downloads page
5) Download ISP_TOOL.EXE, and the two bin files. ISP_TOOL is the updater program, and the two bin files are the firmware for each processor.
6) Uncable the serial cable (grey, DB9 plugs) between the growatt and its peers.
7) Run ISP_TOOL, select the F* firmware first, put on your earmuffs, and run that update. I think the F* bin file updates the CPU associated with the main functions of the inverter, and the V* bin file updates the CPU associated with the interconnection/comms between multiple growatts in a parallel or 3-phase system.
Beware that the update often fails, but you can just start that one again.
8) If the update of the F* firmware is successful, proceed with the V* firmware. 9) Once it completes, you MUST do a reset; Hold down both up and down buttons for 3 sec.
Interface asks you to confirm with RST?
Press Enter (cursor jumps to left side), press Enter (confirms the reset), audible click happens, and the reset is done. 10) Turn off the Growatt. 11) Re-insert the serial cable 12) Turn on the Growatt - provided another Growatt is already up, this Growatt will inherit the settings (except date/time, and option #11, and maybe the phase/parallel setting) 13) Run through all the settings, checking they either match the other Growatts, or match your documented commissioning settings.
